These are just some practice drawings I did. 2 are pastel, 2 are charcoal. The last one is my favorite.

- I was born in Massachusetts and lived there until I turned 21 years old. That's when I decided I needed a change in my life and decided to pick up and move 3,000 miles away from the home I had always known, to beautiful Arizona! I have been here for almost 2 years, as of the 1st of January. While there are things I still love and miss about MA, like the changing leaves in the fall, and the beaches in the summer, I can't help but love Arizona more and more every time I look outside and see the gorgeous sunsets, and the amazing mountain ranges. The landscape here is unlike anything I've ever seen, and even after 2 years it still amazes me to how breathtaking it can be. I am a junior at Arizona State University, and I am an art education major. I love art, and I could not imagine myself pursuing any type of career that did not put my creativity to use.
I like the last one a lot - It's a very moving piece.
ReplyDeleteThanks! That one wasn't for a project or anything, I was just in the mood to draw and sat down with some charcoal and an eraser and just let myself go. So often I find myself putting so much thought into every aspect of what I am working on, (which is a good thing) but it was very nice to just free myself and not think so much about the details of everything. To just enjoy using the medium itself.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you did that ... just enjoyed the medium. Art is always a bizarre mixture of torture and then relief for me. I rarely truly enjoy the process - I honestly don't know why.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I get frustrated very easily during the process if things aren't going as planned, but then in the end it's so worth it, and I find that when things don't go smoothly I learn a lot more.
